ABOUT OUR TIMBER

Sustainable Timber Choices:

We take pride in selecting sustainable timber options for our products. Each wood offers unique characteristics to enhance users’ experiences:

  • Acacia Wood: Renowned for its strength and captivating blend of natural grain patterns, acacia wood is a stunning choice. We apply a light stain and oil finish to accentuate its inherent beauty, creating furniture that is both elegant and durable. When Acacia wood is used for toys it usually has a natural finish or painted with food colours.

  • Recycled Tree Branches: Embrace the charm of nature with  wooden toys incorporating heat-dried, treated recycled tree branches. These branches add a unique rustic touch and organic aesthetic to your pace.

  • Rubberwood: Known for its smooth, light-colored base, rubberwood is a perfect choice for toys. Our rubber wood furniture either has  painted finishes to add a pop of color, or  a natural oil and beeswax blend for a warm, classic look.

  • Canadian Hemlock: Hemlock is a fast-growing species, making it a more sustainable option compared to some slower-growing hardwoods. If you prioritize eco-friendly materials, Hemlock presents a responsible choice.

FURNITURE MAINTENANCE

General Cleaning:

  • For everyday cleaning: Wipe down your furniture with a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution.
  • For natural timber furniture: You can also use a solution of water and a mild anti-mould solution with a soft-bristled brush for a deeper clean. Avoid steel brushes, which can damage the wood.

Timber Care ( for outdoor furniture):

  • Re-oiling: To maintain the beauty and longevity of your timber furniture, apply a light coat of oil with UV protection and water repellent properties about once a year. We recommend using linseed oils or raw linseed oils, or Beeswax, which can be found in most hardware store such as Bunnings. Use a soft cloth and wipe off any excess oil after allowing it to soak in for a short period.
  • Natural Imperfections: Please note that plantation timbers used in our products may have natural blemishes in the wood grain. These are not defects but add to the unique character of the furniture.

Timber Maintenance Tips ( for outdoor furniture only):

  • Seasonal Changes: Timber naturally expands and contracts with temperature and humidity fluctuations. To extend the life of your furniture, avoid placing it in direct sunlight for extended periods or in environments with extreme heat or low humidity.

TOYS MAINTENANCE

To ensure your little one’s favorite playthings stay safe and beautiful for years to come, here are some simple care tips:

  • Gentle Cleaning: For everyday cleaning, wipe down wooden toys with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that can damage the finish. Always dry toys thoroughly with a clean cloth to prevent warping. we use food colors to dye our wooden toys. Therefore, it is natural to see some tint of colors on the first few clean or washes.

  • Natural Disinfection: For an occasional deeper clean, a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water can be used. Simply dampen a cloth, wipe down the toy, and then dry it completely with a clean cloth.

  • Nurturing the Wood: Periodically, you can use a natural oil like linseed or coconut oil to refresh the wood’s appearance and prevent drying. Apply a thin coat with a soft cloth, let it soak in for a short while, and then buff off any excess oil with a clean cloth.

By following these easy steps, you can ensure your child’s cherished wooden toys stay safe, clean, and beautiful, fostering a lifetime of imaginative play.
